My Dad is the reason I learned about so many thing

My Dad is the reason I learned about so many things, but he’s also the reason I started metal detecting when I was a kid.

Last year we detected together a bit with a new machine. The third photo is the one we started with - a Treasure Sensor 3000!

I know he’s my biggest fan and detecting always makes me feel like I’m a kid again out in the yard finding tin can treasures. ❤️ Happy Father’s Day, Dad! Thanks for inspiring me.

When searching for a lost item for someone, this is everything OTHER than that item that I pulled off the beach. It’s a lot of trash even just for a small area.

Unfortunately I haven’t found the lost item yet, but I always keep it in my mind. The plus side is that I’m doing my part to clean up the beach.

I was only a couple crusty pennies into my evening

I was only a couple crusty pennies into my evening of detecting when two young kids came up and asked for my help.

Their mom lost the car key and they had been searching through the sand by hand unsuccessfully. Fortunately it was quick work - just a couple minutes searching the area where they were sitting and there it was!

I was more than happy to help so they could avoid an expensive locksmith and replacement. Later I was rewarded with a find for myself: a cute star charm ⭐️

This was a fun beach detecting day - found a plane that crash landed in the sand and a tag for a dog named Persimmon! Contacted the owners listed on the back and learned it was lost over a year prior and they were shocked I’d found it.

Went metal detecting with my Dad at a nearby park – good haul from a short fun hunt!

I inherited my eagle eyes 🦅👀 from him – he finds coins while walking almost every day.

Stephanie and her Mom were both willing to get the

Stephanie and her Mom were both willing to get their hands dirty in the search through the damp grass and soil for a sentimental ring.

She searched the area many times before I was able to help and still didn’t give up! We found it today and I’m happy her Grandmother’s ring is back where it belongs.

This is a wreck that wasn’t really a wreck, and

This is a wreck that wasn’t really a wreck, and maybe you’ve seen it on Instagram before. Located in Inverness on Tomales Bay, this is S.S. Point Reyes.

It was built in 1944 and was used to carry soldiers from aircraft carriers to port in the Bay Area. It later was used for fishing 🎣

Sometime in the ‘60s - ‘70s it was purchased and docked in Tomales Bay - it needed some restoration. Before that could happen, a storm pushed it into a sandbar and it has been there since.

It’s been photographed frequently and that’s even part of the reason it remains in place. The hull has more damage now than in other photos tagged as #pointreyesshipwreck

I stopped just to see it for myself.

I had the most adorable ring finding experience! A hopeful Dad contacted me because his daughter accidentally lost her special baby ring while playing with a friend in the yard.

She wasn’t supposed to be playing with it, but we all remember being a kid and only doing what our parents said, right?! 😆

Dad and daughter helped me search the yard. 🔍

After a long search, we were about to call it quits but I’ve learned to always give it one more try…and there it was! The tiniest ring I’ve ever seen!
